Pakistani columnist Hamid Mir, host of "Capital Talk" news program, by the Geo News network following Mir's basic remarks about the Pakistan military at a convention on Saturday, the Committee to Protect Journalists gave the accompanying assertion:

Mir's suspension followed remarks about the military at a convention outside the National Press Club in Islamabad on the side of Journalist Asad Ali Toor, as per news reports, a video posted on Twitter, instant messages from Mir to CPJ, and an assertion gave by the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists, which was posted on Twitter.
